support system, in collaboration with community resources that can respond to the emotional,
social, academic and cultural well-being of children and their families."

 

  AmeriCorps

Americorps, a domestic version of the Peace Corps, is a national service initiative organized by the Corporation for National and Community Service in which members improve local communities through service. AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service To America) Members provide indirect service. For more information about AmeriCorps and placement. Click on Link Here

AmeriCorps members are placed through Connect,  a project of the Orangewood Children's Foundation and contractor for the Children and Families Commission of Orange County to provide management and oversight of Americorps and VISTA members. AmeriCorps members usually serve one year at family resource centers. Service provided by AmeriCorps members are:

  • Home visitation
  • Case management
  • Health insurance application assistance
  • Parent education and outreach
  • Volunteer recruitment


Health Insurance Application Assistance:
Medi-Cal, Healthy Families and others

  •   Are you interested in applying for Medi-Cal or Healthy Families? Let us help.

  To find out if you qualify you will need:

  • Proof of income and deduction (pay check stub, child care expenses).
  • Proof of residency (birth certificate).
  • Proof of pregnancy (if applicable).
  • Facilitate and Coordinate Parent Education Classes
